Building Little PillarsBuilding Little Pillars: The Lord's Prayer

Teaching the Foundations of the Christian Faith to Children Ages 3 to 6.

Beginning July 24, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at New Covenant's worship center, 154 Thunderbird Dr. (YMCA), Richmond Hill, GA. Contact the Children's Ministry Director, Andrea Mingledorff, with your questions, newcovpreskids@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION: Like the wise man in Scripture, we want our children's spiritual foundations to run deep, providing stability and protection. With training to set their minds on God's truth and anchor them to resources that have strengthened the Church for centuries, our children can stand strong when their faith is tested by doubt and the storms of life.

The disciples were a lot like us. They often depended on their own strength and understanding even as they stood next to the Son of God! So, when they asked Jesus to teach them to pray, they may have been hoping for a “magical formula” to get God to listen and answer.

As children study each element of The Lord’s Prayer in these eleven lessons, they will come to understand that Jesus didn’t give His disciples (including us) a formula, but a template to first remember to Whom we pray, God our Father who is holy and sovereign. Then, He tells us to remember that, like a loving father, God wants to hear from us; He wants us to share our needs and struggles, and, finally, to obey and hope in Him.

By learning and practicing prayer, children will develop confidence to approach God’s throne with the assurance of the psalmist: “God has surely listened; He has attended to the voice of my prayer” (Ps. 66:19).

Use Building Little Pillars at church, school, home, or homeschool to strengthen children’s faith through the teaching of sound Reformed doctrines.
